The opening and closing part of the stop valve is a plug-shaped valve disc with a flat, conical or spherical sealing surface. The valve disc is driven by the valve stem and moves up and down in a straight line along the valve seat (sealing surface). The opening or closing stroke of the valve stem is relatively short and has a very reliable cut-off action. When the disc (opening and closing part) of the stop valve moves along the axis of the valve seat, the medium in the pipeline can be connected or cut off. Because of the simple structure of the stop valve, and once the stop valve is in the open state, there will be no contact between its seat and the sealing surface of the valve disc, so its sealing surface has less mechanical wear, less friction between the sealing surfaces, longer service life, convenient manufacturing and maintenance, and good adjustment performance, so it is widely used.
